In 2018 while at the library I stumbled upon a book which spoke about businesses that have not been formed as yet. The book made mention of how there could be a business in forming a company that targets bartering which did not connect with me but the concept of targeting places where bartering is done did grab my attention. the business concept and overall development however did not begin until 2020.
A slight back story before going any further. My name is Andre N. Phillips and I am the owner of Cheapskate LLC, where Cheapskate = Convenience. We are a full service courier business that operates throughout the dmv area with our headquarters in loudoun county. Not only do we carry out regular courier functions but we offer services that makes us a one-stop shop for all your needs,these include: Court filing services, Private process serving, mobile notary services, and for our realtors we offer lockbox and sign installation.
Now back to the story....I migrated to maryland from jamaica in 2016 with nothing but a dream for a better life and greater opportunity. I started off waxing cars for a living until i managed to head into the dream of being a corporate worker. i enjoyed corporate but after 4 years i realized that it was not for me and thats when the covid-19 pandemic hit in 2020 and thats when i thought to myself that this was my chance. living by quotes is the way i have always lived and during this crisis I drew for one of my favorites, "never let a good crisis go to waste" by winston churchill. after thinking on the quote I decided to quit my job and start the company on may 1, 2020 and it has been the best, riskiest, stressing, and most fulfilling things i have ever done. Building an excellent team of on-demand drivers all over the dmv area not only was the reason for our growth but it was how they served the clients that really pushed us further.
The journey continues and as we grow from strength to strength it can only be attributed to that of our clients and the trust and faith that they have in Cheapskate llc to provide them with the most efficient and reliable service. as long as we ensure that customer serving is at the forefront then we are confident that we will be around for a very long time.
